Most Pet Friendly Hotel in Toronto!

Hi Friends!

It has been a while since I last posted a blog. I’m sorry—life can get so busy sometimes! But I’m back and I want to share our recent adventure in the city.

I am no expert when it comes to traveling with fur babies, especially because we have only taken Archer with us on vacation a couple of times, and only within Ontario. But we do have plans to take him with us, hopefully next year as we want to meet all our Instagram friends in New York, Vancouver, Calgary, San Francisco, LA, San Diego…basically ALL of California. We would hope that our friends will also want to come visit us in TORONTO!!! Our city is pretty awesome, though I know I complain a lot on Archer’s account about snow, rain and lack of sunshine. But I promise, it is worth visiting especially in the summer! We have dog parks, dog cafes, and pet friendly breweries.

In a couple weeks, Woofstock, one of North America’s largest festivals for dogs, is coming (it occurs every year) and big vendors like Frenchie Bulldog, Bark Industry, Canada Pooch and Open Farm (to name a few) will all be there! This is the time of the year where Archer gets super spoiled as we stock up on treats, dog food, clothes, supplements and the list goes on! There are too many good deals and you just can’t say no. We have some friends who are actually coming this year (YAY!) and a common question keeps coming up—where should we stay? Thing is Toronto isn’t great at advertising itself being dog friendly. When you research online for pet friendly hotels, not much will show up. But what I want to share with you is one of Toronto’s most pet friendly hotels: The Westin Harbour Castle!

Over Easter weekend, Archer was invited to stay at The Westin Habour Castle, located in the heart of downtown Toronto and us hoomans were lucky enough to tag along. This hotel is part of the Westin brand of Marriott hotels, and they are known to treat pets like VIPs. They acknowledge pets are part of the family and deserve a vacation too! From the moment we walked into The Westin Harbour Castle, they welcomed us with open arms. We saw other dogs walking around in the lobby and knew this was going to be a fun-filled weekend. They checked us into a lakeview room with a balcony, and inside the room, waiting for Archer was their Heavenly Dog Bed (the hoomans also had a Heavenly Bed), a place mat with dog bowls and complimentary poop bags and poop bag holder. Archer was in heaven! He sniffed all around the room and tested out both beds, obviously. Which one do you think he settled for?

We took Archer around the hotel to check out their amenities which includes an indoor pool and whirlpool, fitness center, tons of meeting space and a range of restaurants. Though Archer was not allowed in areas like the pool and restaurants, they do have a Bar and Lounge area near their lobby that offers lunch and dinner and is pet friendly. Our laws suck as pets are not allowed in restaurants or even on patios. So the fact that the hotel can offer this option at the hotel, it makes me really happy. For those who prefer to dine in their pajamas (aka me), The Westin Harbour Castle also offers 24h room service. The menu has many delicious options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night snacks. One of my favourite moments was breakfast in bed. Boy, were we spoiled! We had eggs, sausages, toast, coffee, fresh fruit, juice and coffee—basically everything we needed to help us fuel for the day.

Archer and I had such a relaxing time, we did not want our staycation to end! We could totally get used to that hotel life and royal treatment. I can guarantee your stay at The Westin Harbour Castle will empower you to eat, sleep, move, feel, work and play well—making it really hard to go back home. I highly recommend this hotel to those who want to travel with their pets and come visit the beautiful city of Toronto. Be sure to check out their offers! If you want to learn more about their full pet policy, feel free to contact the hotel!

Archer and I are counting down the days till our next staycation…or if he’s lucky, his first real vacation!

Okay…where should we go next?
