#BakingWithArcher

Hey everyone,

Sorry we have been slacking on blog posts. It is crazy how busy summer gets and it doesn’t help I’m trying to plan my wedding. It has been quite hard finding time to balance my real job, social media and this website. I am hoping it’ll get easier but who am I kidding?

I wanted to share a little more about myself. I used to bake and sell cupcakes before dating Archer’s dog dad. When we started dating, I no longer had enough time to bake especially between work and date nights. It was also tiring doing it after work, and I dreaded the clean up of it. But from time to time nowadays, I do enjoy it. My favourite thing to bake are cookies, which explains why I love making cronchy treats for Archer.

Getting Archer has made me super cautious of what ingredients are in his food and treats. Probably because he suffers from allergies and his paws and wrinkles get super yeasty (I’ll share this experience in another blog post). This resulted in switching from kibble to freeze dried raw, and we now pay close attention to what his treats are made of. Earlier this year, I did some research and created a cookie recipe that is SUPER easy to make and only has 3 ingredients. And it’s even better because ARCHER ABSOLUTELY LOVES IT!

I shared my baking experience on our Instagram this year and it was an instant hit with our followers! Everyone wanted to know what I was making and we had so many requests to share our recipes (We do have it saved under out “Treats” highlight on Instagram). We even inspired some owners to bake their own and sell online. Crazy Right? It makes me so happy that everyone and their pups are loving it and we will continue to share more! With these recipes, you’ll no longer need to buy treats because they’re so easy to make. Below you will find our two original recipes: Banana & Peanut Butter and Pumpkin & Peanut Butter. We’re also super excited to to share our NEWEST recipe: Apple & Peanut Butter!

Other tips I have for you guys when it comes to using our recipes:

  • Usually I do blend more oats than specified above in case the dough is too sticky. And I always make sure I have some extra for the surface for when I roll out the dough.

  • You could totally just buy oat flour as well instead of having to blend your own oats.

  • I am sure all our ovens work differently. I provide a suggested baking time, but feel free to bake them more or less depending on your pup’s preference of cronch!

  • Keep in mind these treats have a short shelf life. I will usually put them in the fridge to extend their freshness and we recommend the treats are consumed within 3 to 4 weeks.

  • I have found cute cookie cutters from: Amazon, Bulk Barn, Michaels, Oomomo, Dollar Stores, and HomeSense. Some of these stores might only be in Canada. PS. A lot of you have asked where we got our Frenchie cookie cutter (see picture above) - It’s from Amazon. Click here!

  • I’ve had a couple people who cannot use peanut butter due to allergies. If so, we have a friend who used and suggested WOWBUTTER as an alternative. Just make sure you do research to see if it is right for you and your pup.

Also, if you guys love our recipes, we are happy to tell you that we have something super cool coming in the near future and we are beyond excited to show you!!! Can you guess what it is? Comment below!

Anyways, thank you to everyone who has shown so much love and support for our recipes. It makes us super happy that we can share this fun experience with you. Archer loves these treats so much that I can assure you, your pup will too! We promise to share some more easy recipes soon! If you guys have any feedback, please let us know.
